John Stamos will be there for Lori Loughlin through thick and thin.
The actor, 62, did not hesitate to discuss his former co-star and soon-to-be ex-husband Mossimo Giannulli during an appearance on his podcast The Good Guys on Monday, October 20. Reflecting on his longtime friendship with Loughlin, 61, who played Uncle Jesse’s girlfriend Aunt Becky on Full House in the ’80s and ’90s, Stamos praised her. “He’s a saint.”

“My heart is breaking for her right now,” he said, admitting that she recently split from the clothing designer after 28 years of marriage. “She’s just devastated. For a girl who has lived a really good life, a good person, a good mother, a good wife, and I know all of this for a fact, to now be thrown into this separation and explode like this and destroy a family,” Stamos said. “I hate to see her go through this. I really do.”

“We have worked hard to be there for her during this time and throughout the university scandal,” Stamos said, noting that in 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 to get their daughters, Olivia Jade, 26, and Isabella, 27, into the University of Southern California as fake crew members.
Shortly after the press conference about the federal investigation was announced, Stamos said he texted the actress, who didn’t know that “When Hope Calls” was aired on “every channel.” That was the last time he “heard from her for a while.”
In May 2020, Loughlin and Giannulli pleaded guilty to wire fraud and mail fraud. Loughlin was ultimately sentenced to two months in federal prison, which was completed in December 2020, and Giannulli received five months.
Stamos explained that he was there all along to support his longtime friend, and did not hold back on his opinion on Giannulli’s role in the hardships Loughlin went through.

“I said, ‘Look, every negative thing you’ve ever been through in your life, every great hardship, has to do with this guy,'” Stamos admitted telling Loughlin about Giannulli. “Whatever he did to her, she was devastated to the core. She’s put up with a lot over the years with this man. And again, I’m not going to be involved in that relationship. It’s my job. I mean, I know a lot, and I’ve been by her side a lot. She’s always made things better. He’s a very successful guy.

Regarding his relationship with Giannulli, Stamos declared that he would “never speak to him again.”
“He’s a terrible narcissist, and I don’t think he’ll ever get out of it unless he does that,” he continued, adding that although he knows a little about Giannulli, he wonders, “How do you overcome that?”
“I pray for this man,” Stamos concluded. “I pray that he understands whatever hole he’s trying to fill. He’s trying to fill it, but he realizes that what he had was all anyone could ever hope for, and I pray that he gets help. I think this guy needs help.”
