One week after the heralded and critically acclaimed return of the late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” headed to Brooklyn, where it aired a week’s worth of programming and continued to lead in total late-night viewers and adults 18-49.
According to ABC, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” averaged 2.2 million viewers and a 0.22 rating among adults 18-49 for the week of Sept. 29. That outpaced its competitors, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (1.96 million viewers, 0.13 adults 18-49) and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (1.09 million viewers, 0.09 adults 18-49) during the same period.
Of course, this number is down from last week’s unusually large number, as there was interest in how Kimmel would fare following his suspension by Disney/ABC. On Sept. 23, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” returned to the air after a multi-day hiatus and drew 6.3 million viewers on Tuesday. This is the most-watched episode of any regularly aired show ever. The episode had a 0.87 rating among adults 18-49, the highest demo rating for a regularly aired episode since 2015.
This is the seventh time “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been broadcast from Brooklyn since Talker began broadcasting in 2003. The live show was once again held at the Howard Gilman Opera House at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last aired from Brooklyn the week of September 26, 2022. Compared to that visit, this year’s Brooklyn show saw a 35% increase in total viewers (versus 1.63 million in 2022).
The show’s 2025 Brooklyn week also went head-to-head with “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The average viewership for the 2024-2025 season is 42% of total viewers (vs. 1.55 million) and 57% among adults 18-49 (vs. 0.14).
The highest-rated episode of the week was Monday (September 29), which featured guests Ryan Reynolds, Josh Johnson, and musical guests Public Enemy, and averaged 2.86 million viewers and a 0.47 rating among adults 18-49.
Other guests this week included Stephen Colbert, Kumail Nanjiani and, on Tuesday, musical guest Renee Rapp. Emily Blunt, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and musical guests Geese and Big Daddy Kane join Cleto and the Cretones on Wednesday. Jeremy Allen White, Bruce Springsteen and musical guests Living Color and Ivan Neville join Cleto and the Cretones (Thursday). and Tom Hanks and Spike Lee on Friday.
According to the network, Brooklyn Week content has received more than 34.1 million views to date on the show’s YouTube channel.
