How the Grinch Stole the Red Carpet.
Jim Carrey and How the Grinch Stole Christmas costar Taylor Momsen have reunited for the first time in 25 years since the iconic holiday film was released in theaters.
Carey, 63, and Momsen, who played Cindy Lou Who in the November 2000 family comedy, posed for photos together on the red carpet ahead of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The photographer also captured the two chatting and hugging.
Carrey, famous for playing the Christmas-hating Dr. Seuss in the hit movie, looked cool in a brown pinstripe trench coat over a graphic T-shirt, black pants and matching shoes.
He had shaggy hair slicked back.
Momsen paired her black leather jacket with a slip dress and platform boots, completing her edgy look with her signature smokey eye.
The 32-year-old passionately shared many of her favorite memories from working on set with the legendary comedy actor.
“I was really happy that he was so protective of me,” the actress-turned-musician, who was only 7 years old when the film was released, recalled in a red carpet interview with People magazine.
“He was always so kind, and the whole experience of filming ‘The Grinch’ and getting to know him so well, even with the makeup on, was just amazing.”
The Gossip Girl star recently admitted that she had “no idea what Jim Carrey looked like” when filming the movie, as he was always covered in facial prosthetics and green yak fur.
“I didn’t know who Jim was until the premiere, so someone had to tell me who Jim was and say, ‘That’s Jim,'” Momsen revealed on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast last week. “And I thought, ‘Oh, Jim!’
Carey has fond memories of this project, previously calling it a “lucky thing” in her life.
“It makes me feel really good,” he told Extra in December 2024. “I don’t know how it happened, but I’m so happy to think that’s one of the Yule Logs that people go to. … I’m really happy. It’s a lovely thing.”
