What you need to know
Jennifer Lopez is reflecting on how she feels as her children soon head off to college.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on the opening night of his “Up All Night Live in Las Vegas” residency, the “On the Floor” artist, 56, opened up about how he feels about his 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, heading off to college soon. Lopez, who shares her children with ex Marc Anthony, told the outlet that she feels “really happy” about them heading out into the world.
“I feel really good,” she said. “I just feel like it’s just the three of us, I can’t believe how far we’ve come. You know, this has been this life journey for all three of us, because I’ve been a single mom since they were three years old.”
“People came in and out of my life, but it was really just the three of us,” she continued. “And when you look at how they’re growing up now, the adults are so ready for their lives, like the young people they’re growing up to be. They’re ready to go out. I remember what it felt like (at) 18 years old.”
The doting mother went on to say she was “so excited” for them to get out and see what life has in store for them.
“I’m so excited about that because I know they have something like a home that they’re going to go to that’s solid for them and solid for the rest of their lives. And more importantly, they know that,” she said. “So they have love and they can go out and do whatever they want.”
Lopez welcomed her children with Anthony in February 2008. The actress, singer, dancer and business mogul recently told E! News that her children aren’t phased by her career.
“It’s funny, my kids aren’t really involved in my mom’s work. It’s more like, ‘Work, go home, stay home until dinner.’ That’s more of what they’re concerned about. Mom, are you going to come over here for the weekend? Can you do that? You know, it’s a different life. It’s different,” she shared.

Lopez went on to share that her children attended her recent Las Vegas show. The doting mother called them “fans” and added how they feel when they watch her mother perform.
“They came to the show yesterday and today, and they’ll be there tomorrow,” she said. “They’re fans. They’re sweet about it, and they’re proud of their mom.”
