Jennifer Aniston is celebrating a special anniversary with her boyfriend.
Nearly a year after the Friends alum, 56, started dating boyfriend Jim Curtis, a source tells PEOPLE that the pair are a perfect match.
“Jim is very laid back, but also focused and driven,” says a source. “He’s very calm about things. He brings good energy and that’s what Jen likes about it. Jen is very type A and takes on a lot. He’s very stable and grounded. He’s not a stress or intensity type, and that balance works well for her. There’s no drama, no emotional games, no whiplash. In many ways, it’s the most mature relationship she’s ever had.”

A source said Aniston and Curtis “started out as friends,” but things were “different” for the actress.
“She got to know him over time,” the source continued. “She already knew that she liked many things about him before they got into a romantic relationship. In fact, she was a little hesitant because she thought so highly of him as a friend and wanted him around. But life is short, and her friends encouraged her to date him.”
“She’s so grateful to be able to share her life with him. She’s enjoying every moment, and at this point, that’s enough for her. She’s happy with where she is. She doesn’t have big plans for the future. She’s not chasing anything. She’s just incredibly happy, comfortable, and proud to be dating him. And they’re absolutely adorable,” the source added.
The Morning Show star and the hypnotherapist first sparked romance rumors in July 2025, and PEOPLE confirmed they were dating shortly after. In November, the pair went Instagram official, with Aniston posting a photo of herself with her arm around Curtis and the caption, “Happy birthday to you my love ❤️.”
Although they’ve kept things relatively private, Curtis recently opened up about their relationship during an appearance on the Today Show on Monday, January 26th.
When anchor Craig Melvin asked how Curtis and Aniston met, Curtis said, “We were just introduced by friends. That’s it. We found out we had mutual friends and we just started chatting.”
Curtis went on to explain that the meeting didn’t immediately lead to a relationship: “It took a long time, we talked for a long time, and we became close.”
Although he was vague about the exact schedule of their relationship, he revealed, “We’ve been together for a long time, many months, almost a year.”
Melvin then joked, “You’re a little red right now, so I’m not going to put you on the spot any longer,” but the health expert, who was on the show to promote his new book, The Book of Possibilities, admitted, “Okay, yeah, that’s true.”

Earlier this month, a source revealed details of the pair’s romance to PEOPLE, saying Aniston had a “great end to the year and feels great about her relationship with Jim.”
“She’s excited about this new year and what’s to come, especially having Jim by her side,” the source added. “Jen has always been thriving on her own and comfortable being single, but her relationship with Jim is completely different.”
“She’s very happy and comfortable,” a source said at the time. “He is very kind and supportive of her. He makes her daily life better.”
