Prime Video is commemorating the Indian women’s cricket team’s World Cup victory with a special episode of its unscripted series ‘Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle’ featuring championship-winning players Jemima Rodriguez and Shafali Verma.
Hosted by Bollywood actor Kajol and author Twinkle Khanna, the episode focuses on the experiences of India’s leading athletes on the world stage and explores the team’s journey to the title.
Produced by Banijay Asia, Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle has become the most-watched original unscripted series on Prime Video in India.
“Team India’s World Cup victory is a landmark moment and a source of immense national pride, propelling women’s cricket in India and inspiring generations of aspiring sportswomen,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “At Prime Video, we pride ourselves on celebrating real-life stories that move and inspire. We are honored to welcome World Cup winning team Jemima Rodriguez and Shafali Verma to ‘Kajol and Twinkle Two Match’ for a candid and heartfelt conversation celebrating their unwavering spirit and the historic victory that captured the hearts of an entire nation.”
Mrinalini Jain, Group Chief Development Officer, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said the World Cup victory was “not just a sporting milestone, but an emotional, cultural and landmark moment for India that will forever be etched in history.”
Kajol emphasized the cultural importance of the team’s achievements. “When India won the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup, history was created in a way that goes far beyond sports,” she said. “For all the women who have ever been told to stay in their lane, after playing the biggest game of their lives, they look like they’re in no mood to resist a word or a shot.”
Co-host Twinkle Khanna added that the cricketers’ performance at the World Cup shows how they are “breaking glass ceilings and all barriers of convention and paving the way for other women in their ranks.”
The special episode extends the series’ run as Prime Video continues to expand its unscripted programming in India. The streamer’s original content library includes scripted series such as “Panchayat,” “Mirzapur,” “The Family Man” and “Citadel: Honey Bunny,” as well as unscripted formats and post-theatrical films.
Banijay Asia was launched in 2018 as a joint venture between Banijay Group and Deepak Dhar, producing both scripted and unscripted content for Indian platforms. The company’s unscripted portfolio includes “Temptation Island,” “MTV Roadies,” “The Voice” and “Into the Wild with Bear Grylls.”
