Variety has announced the presenters for this year’s Power of Women: Los Angeles event, which will be held in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, October 29th. The event, in partnership with Lifetime, celebrates the Power of Women honorees featured on the issue’s cover and the outstanding women featured in the annual Women’s Impact Report, which highlights leaders in the entertainment industry.
This year’s presenters include Academy Award-winning actor and activist Jane Fonda, who will present to honoree Wanda Sykes. Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer presents the award to Kate Hudson. Award-winning actress, producer, director, and activist Eva Longoria presents the award to recipient Nicole Scherzinger. Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actress Melanie Griffith presents the award to recipient Jamie Lee Curtis. Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning actress Sharon Stone presents the award to recipient Sidney Sweeney.
Variety will also honor world champion gymnast and activist Aly Riseman with the Variety Courage Award presented by Purina. This award recognizes her strong advocacy and leadership on behalf of abuse survivors and showing them that unconditional love for their pets can be part of their healing journey. This certification is closely tied to Purina’s Purple Leash Project, a partnership with the nonprofit organization RedRover that works to support domestic violence survivors on both ends of the leash by establishing more pet-friendly domestic violence shelters across the United States. World champion gymnast Jordan Childs will present to Raisman.
This year’s Power of Women honorees include Oscar and Emmy Award-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who supports Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Academy Award-nominated actress and Golden Globe Award winner Kate Hudson supports the World Food Program (WFP). Nicole Scherzinger, Tony Award-winning, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and frontwoman of global pop phenomenon The Pussycat Dolls, supports the Special Olympics. Wanda Sykes, an Emmy Award-winning comedian, author and actress, is also the star of Netflix’s The Upshaws with an EP in support of the Ruth Ellis Center. and Emmy-nominated actress and producer Sydney Sweeney, who supports the National Center on Domestic and Sexual Violence.
The event will be hosted by actress, comedian, writer, and author Iliza Schlesinger, whose latest stand-up special, “Iliza Schlesinger: A Different Animal,” recently premiered on Prime Video and is currently touring around the world on the highly anticipated “Iliza! Live Tour.”
Lifetime is the event’s presenting partner and Purina is the event’s premier partner. Mattel is an official partner of the event and will host branded activations offering special gifts to attendees.
At the event, event winners and guests will receive specially selected gift bags containing entertainment, beauty, health and fashion products from companies such as Bally’s, Tarte Cosmetics, The Honest Company, YSE Beauty by Molly Sims and St. Jane Beauty.
