Music is at the heart of Cruise Beckham and Jackie Apostel’s relationship, and that’s where it all started.
Victoria and David Beckham’s youngest son, 20, released a new song called “Optics” on Friday, October 24th, as he pursues a career as a musician. The 29-year-old songwriter’s girlfriend shared a message of support and behind-the-scenes photos from the accompanying music video.
Apostel also revealed how the two, who have been rumored to be dating for over a year, first met.
Ahead of the song’s release, on Tuesday, October 21st, Apostel shared a sweet tribute to the up-and-coming musician in a sweet tribute to the up-and-coming musician, sharing a post from his girlfriend announcing “Optics,” which was released at the same time as another song, “Lick The Toad.”
“The first time we met was when we were put into the studio by our manager to write a song together,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I hear you’ve been finding yourself for years, working on your own projects and changing your sound a little bit.”

“I went in with an open mind, but I didn’t know what to expect,” she continued. “I left that day knowing that you are an incredible musician, but most importantly, you love this music so much from the bottom of your heart that you will never stop no matter what other people think.”
As they worked on music together, Apostel said, “that work became a friendship, and the friendship became us.” Now, she continued, “You’re ready to go out and find who you want to be now and finally share it.”
She also teased that Cruise’s two new songs are “a bit of a fun warm-up,” before hinting, “I hope you guys are ready for the next one.”
“I’m so proud of you,” she wrote, tagging the singer. “I love watching you do everything you say. I’ll forever be your biggest fan. I love you.”

On October 24, Apostel, who is credited as the “brand strategist” in the “Optics” music video, also shared some behind-the-scenes shots of the visual, which is a relaxed video that takes place primarily outdoors.
“A day in the country, a Craigslist couch and a few friends 🤝,” the songwriter wrote in the caption. “Watch all the way to the end to see the amazing cutie in the driver’s seat,” she added, teasing a four-legged cameo. “Optical video is now on sale!”
Cruise also celebrated the single’s release with a show in the UK, which Apostel documented in a clip on Instagram Stories. She later shared a photo of her show outfit, a leopard-print and black leather ensemble, in a post simply captioned, “Given outfit!”

Apostel’s latest comments come weeks after she made headlines for addressing critics of her relationship with Cruise.
Earlier this month, the songwriter defended Cruise’s age difference in the comments of an Instagram post shared by his mother, Victoria.
“Why would a 29-year-old date a 20-year-old?” one Instagram user commented on Victoria’s Fashion Week post, later clarifying that she was referring to the couple. A user also wrote, “That’s just weird.”
In response, Apostel commented, “He’s kind, funny, smart, caring, driven, mature, talented, loyal, and very handsome🥰.”
According to E!, Cruise was first spotted with Apostel at the Glastonbury Music Festival in June 2024. news. Over the next few months, the two were spotted together several more times, and made their Instagram official in October 2024.
