Popular influencer and rapper Jimmy McMahan, known online as “White Folks,” died in a motorcycle accident on the night of January 19th.
According to WREG, a CBS affiliate based in Memphis, Tennessee, the motorcycle was found at the scene of an accident at the intersection of Saratoga Road and Millington Road in Millington, a small city in the Memphis metropolitan area. The City of Millington confirmed to WREG that there was only one victim, identified as McMahan by the internet personality’s manager.
People contacted the Millington Police Department.
McMahan, who maintained more than 120,000 followers on Instagram, was known online for his comedy videos in which he shared content about life in Memphis.
“Whiteforks was more than just a brother, he was a son, a friend, and a light to all who knew him,” says a GoFundMe page set up by his family to raise money for funeral costs. “His laughter, loyalty and love will never be forgotten. He lived with passion and left an indelible impression on our lives.”
In a Facebook post, McMahan’s daughter-in-law, Tonya, remembered him for “all the wonderful memories” they shared together.
“It was an honor to know my brother-in-law!” she wrote in an emotional eulogy. “I was never bored. After spending a day with him, my stomach and ribs would be sore for days. Whoever you are, his heart was so big.”
McMahan appears to have last updated his social media accounts on January 18, the day before the fatal accident, when he shared a video on Instagram that appeared to show him in the hospital.
After the news of his death became public, the author’s fans expressed their condolences in the comments of the pinned post.
