Britney Spears has slammed her money-hungry ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she claims is “profiting off of[her]pain” in his upcoming memoir.
The pop star posted a lengthy message on X Thursday criticizing Federline for promoting her book titled “I Thought You Knew” in a recent interview and “attacking” Federline for spreading false and harmful stories about her.
“Why is he so angry…and the scary thing is he’s vindictive,” she said of how Federline performs sob stories in front of the camera. “I literally freaked out when he stopped before he started crying. Are you serious?”
She also admitted that she thinks his bombshell book will “sell more” than his 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, which details his behind-the-scenes personal life, including his three-year marriage.
“If you truly love someone, you won’t help them by humiliating them,” Spears continued. “What scared me was how serious and angry he was. People don’t understand that, but it’s much worse than anyone could imagine.”
The Grammy winner claimed that the father of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jaden, “hates” her and must be “deeply angry to literally say what I’m saying.”
She also compared her previous relationship with Federline to her toxic relationship with her parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, detailing how her parents would tell her, “We love you so much and we wish you were here,” but in reality they “secretly liked to push[her]away and make[her]feel completely isolated.”
A representative for Federline did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Her relationship with her father is said to be “non-existent” since her 13-year conservatorship ended in 2021, but her relationship with her mother appears to have become “more complicated” with some communication. She publicly denounced the two as guardians.
Amidst headlines claiming it came from an ex-lover’s book, the pop princess said she needed “healing” and planned to do so by gardening in her greenhouse.
“It’s going to be full of dirt and really dirty, but I don’t care. I’m honestly so liberated and so blessed that I received (the plants)!!! I have a lot of work to do to heal…” she explained.
The “Circus” hitmaker also heartbreakingly revealed that another way she wants to heal is “general contact and communication with people,” something she doesn’t seem to be doing these days. She even mentioned Michelle Pfeiffer and Paris Jackson by name, saying, “I’d love to have coffee, lunch or dinner with them.”
“It’s important to respect people and still believe in humanity. There are some very cool and beautiful people here,” she said.
The Louisiana native ended his message by hinting at possible future projects, including a radio podcast, an acting gig, and a monthly column. Spears made sure to thank “the people who are supporting[her]right now” who understand how much this situation is hurting her.
Federline has previously released excerpts from his book, slamming his ex-wife and portraying the musician as violent and mentally unstable.
In what may be two of the most alarming claims, he wrote that his two sons awoke to see their sleeping mother “with a knife in hand” and that she had taken cocaine while breastfeeding.
The former dancer said the cocaine incident was the “last straw” in their marriage, which ended in 2007.
Spears did not address specific allegations, but in another scathing post on Wednesday, she accused Federline of “constant gaslighting” which was “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”
“Believe me, the white lies in that book are going straight to the bank. The only person really getting hurt here is me,” she wrote.
