Put on your detective hat because Emma Myers is returning for a second season of The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
The show, based on Holly Jackson’s hit novel, stars Wednesday star Myers as teenage super detective Pip. “It’s a very nostalgic feeling,” Myers said in a social media video announcing the release date. “This season is really special to me and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Season 2 will be shown on May 27th. The six-episode season will be available on Netflix worldwide with some exceptions. It will be available to watch on BBC Three and iPlayer (also on May 27) in the UK and Ireland, and on ZDFneo in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Season 2 will see Zayn Iqbal return as Pip’s burgeoning lover Ravi Singh, as the pair deal with the aftermath of solving the Andy Bell murder as Max Hastings (Henry Ashton) approaches trial. Suddenly, Connor’s (Jude Morgan-Corey) brother Jamie (Eden H. Davies) goes missing, and Pip must find him before it’s too late.
Myers will be joined in the new season by newcomers Misia Butler (Chaos), Eden H. Davis (Tell Me Everything) and Jack Rowan (Notes + Crosses).
Screenwriter Poppy Keoghan also returns for season two, this time working with Jackson on an adaptation of the second installment of her YA mystery series, Bad Blood.
“I’m so excited to be able to continue Pip’s story and this time I get to write for the show!” Jackson said. “We are grateful for everything to our dedicated fans. We can’t wait to reunite with the ‘AGGGTM’ family!”
The show is produced by Moonage Pictures, part of ITV Studios, in collaboration with Netflix and ZDFneo. BBC Studios is handling worldwide sales.
