Everything about Indio, Exton and Avri

It is clear that Robert Downey Jr. has a lot of love for his children.

The actor in the Avengers is a father of three. Robert welcomed his son, Indio Falconer Downey, along with his then-wife Deborah Falconer, in 1993, and they have two children, including his son Exton Elias Downey and daughter Avri Roel Downey and his wife Susan Downey.

Exton was born in 2012, and in 2014, a year before Robert turned 50. During an interview with Extra in 2014, the actor was asked if he enjoyed his fatherhood more than he was “a little older.”

“I mean, it’s always great to be a dad, no matter where you are or what else is going on,” Robert replied. “But life is really happy to be able to show up because I’m working now or working with him. You know, I’m not like 20, I prefer to party or hang out with my peers.”

Golden Globe winners often don’t share photos of his kids, but in 2022 Robert posted an interesting video of Exton and Avi. “What we do for our work…and our children.

In 2023, Robert’s children followed in his father’s footsteps and appeared in the series Downey’s Dream Car. All three appeared in the series, and Indio also wrote episodes.

“My wife, Susan Downey, raised him not ham,” Robert said of Exton. “He’s not like putting together audition tapes or anything like that. The producer added that Avri brought her own strengths to the set. He said his daughter was “a little different, despite her being off the charts of the series.”

When Robert won his first Oscar in March 2024 for his performance at Oppenheimer, he made him scream for his love and admiration for his three children.

Indio Falconer Downey, 32

Robert welcomed his first child, son Indio, along with his then-wife Deborah, on September 7, 1993. After eight years of separation, the couple officially ended their marriage in 2004.

Although Indio grew up mainly from the spotlight, he has made several appearances with his father over the years. Indio performed a younger version of Robert’s character Harry Lockhart in the 2005 Kiss Kiss Bang.

Robert and Indio walked the red carpet at the premiere of Kiss Kiss Bang, Shaggy Dog, Zodiac and The Netflix Documentary Senior, which honored the life of Indio’s grandfather, Robert Downey Sr.

Beyond his work in Hollywood, Robert’s eldest son has a band called Indio Ink, formerly known as The Dose. Robert shared on Instagram in 2022 that he was “literally gob-slammed” when he witnessed Indio’s “musicianship” during a recording session he stopped by.

In an emotional Instagram homage to celebrate Indio’s 30th birthday in 2023, the proud father wrote that his son was a “magic man” and “the legend of his brother.”

“From day one, I’ve had joy, deep thinker, sympathizer, artist. I’m the absolute most materialist I know, and one of the most dedicated singer/songwriter/musicians in LA!!!” Robert wrote over the years along with a montage of photographs and videos of his son. “Indio Falconer Downey, I salute your soul, spirit and wisdom.”

In January 2024, Robert posted a link to his new release on Instagram Bio, posting a cover image of the song, “My illustrious eldest child continues to be impressed. Strong recommendation!!”

Exton Elias Downey, 13

Robert and Susan welcomed their first child, Exton Elias, in Los Angeles, on February 7, 2012.

The Ultron star’s age showed off a photo of his then-3 month old son when he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Reno, where he also described the name of the newborn. Praises the photo, “He’s so cute, isn’t he?” the actor added, “My wife’s great-uncle Joe was a bit quirky. When he was in fourth grade, he realized he had no middle name, so he changed his name to J. Exton.”

Early on, Robert’s young son was involved in his father’s career and appeared in Netflix’s 2022 documentary Sr. “It was organic. I wasn’t there when he spoke to the camera.”

The Iron Man star recalls his own childhood in Hollywood, saying, “It was this amazing moment of a much healthier and sustainable version of what I had. The huge victory of the entire project is the next generation opportunity to turn upside down without the darkness.”

Robert was also involved in Exton in another of his projects. Downey’s Dream Car, his biggest series, premiered in June 2023. Exton appeared in the series several times alongside his sister and brother, enjoying his father’s car skills.

“He wanted to be involved in what I was doing,” Robert told people of his younger sons. “And when I ran this by him he said, ‘Yeah, certainly.’ And he came in and absolutely wiped the floor with me. ”

Avri Roel Downey, 10

Avri Roel, daughter of Robert and Susan, was born on November 4th, 2014. The Sherlock Holmes star announced her daughter’s arrival in a post on Facebook.

“After nine months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce the Fall/Winter 2014 project,” he writes, referring to his and Susan’s production company. “Yeah… Avri Roel Downey joins the party and comes with various Susan features that seem to have overwritten my “junk DNA.” ”

Roel, Avri’s middle name, is a homage to his grandparents. The first two letters are for Robert Sr., his wife Rosemary and Susan’s mom Rosie. Meanwhile, “El” comes from Elliot Levin, the father of Infinity Warstar’s mother, Elsieford and Susan.

In November 2021, Robert shared a video from AVRI’s 7th birthday celebration. In addition to a clip of himself dressed like a piñata and hit by kids with sticks, he jokingly wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

Like her brother Exton, Abri was in a Netflix documentary about her paternal grandfather. She appeared in Downey’s Dream Car in 2023 along with both Exton and Indio.
