Eva Mendes celebrated Christmas in style.
Sharing two selfies after the holiday, she added, “I survived being a Santa mom,” adding, “It hurt the whole Christmas day, but I did it!”
The mother of two with partner Ryan Gosling knows that the struggle during the holidays is real.
Wearing red tartan pajamas with a lighted tree blurring in the background, Mendes’s hair is slightly disheveled and her eye makeup gives off a smoky look for the next day.
“I actually do my eye makeup on Christmas Eve. I know I won’t get much sleep that night, so at least I’ll stay awake,” she jokingly wrote in her Instagram caption.
“Happy Holidays to everyone who made Christmas magical for children, no matter the obstacles,” she added.
The beauty hack was meant to be a joke, but the sentiment was genuine, leaving fans upset and her comments filled with words of support.
“You have no idea what this post means to me,” one person wrote. “Moms really are superheroes. Cheers to us!” wrote another. One fan added: “This is true strength and true beauty.”
A few days ago, Mendes and Gosling were spotted on a rare outing with their children. The family is usually very private when it comes to public appearances and sharing on social media.
Eh! According to the news, the actress explained, “When it comes to men and children, I have always had clear boundaries. I will talk about them, with restrictions, of course, but I will not post pictures of our daily life.”
She continued, “My children are young and don’t understand what posting images of themselves actually means, so I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post images until they’re old enough to consent to me.”
On Dec. 15, Mendes spoke about “creating fulfilling experiences” for his children at Christmas, sharing stories of growing up and celebrating with his family.
“We didn’t have anything, but Mami always made Christmas special. I remember going into debt every year after Christmas, but somehow she managed to make it happen again the following year.”
