Sorry, Hellfire Club fans, but Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Manson won’t be coming back from the dead in Season 5 of Stranger Things.
In a new interview with Empire, the Duffer brothers confirmed that the Manson saga ended with season four of the show, despite all the rumors swirling. The actor, who broke out in Stranger Things and went on to star in Gladiator II and Fantastic Four, was asked at a recent fan convention in Belgium whether his character might return, and he modestly replied, “I know, but I won’t say it.” (via ScreenRant)
“I love it when Joe Quinn messes with people! But no, he’s dead,” Matt Duffer told Empire. “Joe is just so busy, so we all should know he’s not coming back. He’s done five movies since then! When on earth is he going to have time to come and film Stranger Things? No, sadly, rest in peace. He’s totally in it.”
But the final season of Stranger Things will introduce some new Hawkins residents, including Terminator star Linda Hamilton, who plays a government agent hunting down Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).
“She’s very intelligent and intimidating,” Matt Duffer said in an interview with Empire. “She’s a scientist, but if she has to, she’ll pick a fight and shoot a gun.”
The Duffer Brothers recently teased the show’s grand finale in a wide-ranging Variety cover story, with Matt saying, “We’ve done everything we wanted to do with the Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, Vekna and the Upside Down, Hawkins and all these characters. It’s a complete story. It’s over.”
