Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Over the weekend, the fashion designer celebrated 50 years since she and her husband fell in love via Instagram.
“Today is BIG BANG’s 50th anniversary!!! The day Barry and I fell in love!” the 78-year-old captioned a throwback photo with the billionaire businessman, who came out as gay earlier this year, on Saturday.
“He kept the door open and never closed it!” she continued. “First day of a long, colorful and happy journey… Unconditional love ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you BD❤️👍🙏”
The social media slideshow opens with a photo of the couple riding bikes in all-white ensembles, with the House of DVF alum kissing her partner’s back.
Later shots showed them cuddling on a sofa and walking the Met Gala red carpet.
Rita Wilson, Lauren Sanchez and other stars gushed about the pair’s breakthrough moment in the comments section.
“What a great love story!” Andy Cohen wrote, while Amy Schumer added that she was “knocked out” by the snap.
Furstenberg and Diller, 83, married in 2001.
Diller came out as gay in a New York magazine essay in May, admitting that his romance with the fashionista “caused confusion and much speculation.”
He called his “cosmic” love for von Furstenberg, “the one woman” he fell in love with with “many men”, “a miracle of (his) life.”
“Yes, I liked men too, but that didn’t contradict my love for Diane. I can’t explain that to myself or to the world,” he said.
Diller’s wife broke her silence about his public announcement in a recent interview with Variety.
“It doesn’t change anything,” von Furstenberg told the magazine before slamming the “stupid question.”
“I’ve been married to two gay men, okay?” she added, referring to her first husband, Prince Egon von Furstenberg. “I don’t know why, but to me they’re not gay, so it doesn’t make any difference.”
