Derek Hough and Haley Albert Hough are sharing a look at the birth of their daughter Everly Capri Huff.
The proud parents commemorated their newborn’s first month of life on December 29 by posting a video of their home birth on Instagram.
The video included short clips of Hailey, 31, throughout her labor and birth. Another short clip showed Hayley giving birth in the water with Derek, 40, sitting next to her in a pool to support her. The video ended with the new family of three hugging each other, with the new parents smiling as they held their baby girl.
Hayley wrote an emotional message about becoming a mother and what life has been like since Everly was born.
“I have been through so much in this life, both physically and emotionally, that I thought I understood my strength. Until giving birth, and now becoming a mother, I have revealed depths I never knew existed,” the former Dancing with the Stars alumnus member wrote.

Hailey’s birth was “one of the most difficult things” she had ever experienced, she explained, adding, “Yet my body and baby always knew exactly what to do.”
“Even in the most intense moments of childbirth, I never felt afraid. I felt supported. I felt supported. I trusted the power flowing through me,” she said. “Every sensation reminded me of the power my body has.”
She went on to say how proud she is of herself and in awe of what all women are “able to do.” The professional dancer added, “There’s something incredible about abandoning childbirth when you remember what women have been doing since time immemorial.”
Haley described Everly’s birth as “raw, wild, primal, vulnerable, transformative, and sacred.”
“In the most sacred space, my daughter arrived Earthside as always, as planned,” she said, declaring, “I have been asked many times if I would like to do it again, and I would do it a million times over without hesitation.”
Haley said she was “extremely grateful” to Derek and said she “never doubted” him or the process.
“He has an unwavering belief in my strength and has been my rock through it all,” she wrote. “He had so much space. He showed up with a quiet strength and presence. The love and connection I felt from him was indescribable. I will carry this feeling forever. I love you so much.”
“The most powerful experience I have ever witnessed. I am in awe of you, my beautiful wife, and all the women who endured to bring life into this world ❤️,” Derek replied in the comments section.

Hayley also thanked her birth team for the “love, care and steady presence they provided throughout the hours of labor.”
She concluded with a message for Everly. “Happy 1st month of life, my beautiful Everly! You changed me. You changed us forever. I love you infinitely ♥️”

The couple, who married in August 2023, announced on Instagram in late July that they were pregnant with their first child.
Two weeks after welcoming Everly, they spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about the newborn and her birth. “There were no options for epidural treatment or pain management,” Albert Huff said.
“Did you expect it to look like this? Absolutely not, but it was so powerful and beautiful,” Haley said. “I wouldn’t change it for a second. It was perfect in every way.”
Derek said he was “in awe the whole time” as he watched her give birth, adding: “Watching her give birth was a life-changing perspective shift.”
