Demi Lovato is excited about Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.
Lovato, 33, appeared on her upcoming album, “Not That Deep,” on Tuesday, September 16th, on an episode of Watch What Happes Live. She chatted briefly with a 33-year-old Disney Channel alumni about her engagement to 37-year-old Gomez. Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement in December 2024.
Lovato was asked about Gomez’s recent comments on the July 10 episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss Podcast. At the time, Gomez spoke about the huge success her fellow Disney Channel stars reached. “From the Jonas brothers to Miley (Cyrus) and Demi (Lovato), Gomez said, “It’s good to see them all do their own thing.”
“I heard the clip she said on the podcast,” Lovato said when asked about Gomez’s comments on WWHL. “It was really, really sweet.”
She “didn’t make her happy,” and in addition to Blanco and their upcoming marriage, Lovato said, “I wish her the best.”

Lovato also shared that he is listening to Gomez and Blanco’s latest album. “A truly, really, really great work,” she said.
“I love the song,” Lovato said.
The two singers first met in 2001 when they starred in Bernie and a friend at age 7. Their friendship continued as they starred in Chance and Gomez in the hit children’s television series Lovato and Wizard of Waverly Place. Towards the end of Disney Channel’s tenure, they starred together in the Princess Protection Program in 2009.
There were rumours that their friendship had broken before it was settled in 2011. Nevertheless, they continue to praise each other’s professional work.

Lovato recently spoke to a paper about his time with Disney and how she and her fellow Disney stars (Gomez, Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, etc.) were “the last generation of that fuss.”
“I think there’s better protection now for them, at least I hope,” she said.
