According to ABC, this week’s Oct. 28 episode of “Halloween Night” averaged 6.74 million total viewers, continuing the low ratings of “Dancing with the Stars” this season. This is also a season high, the network reported, and “DWTS” has increased for six consecutive weeks since its season premiere.
“Halloween Night” episodes were up 2% from the previous week (6.63 million on Oct. 21), an increase even though it was airing opposite Game 4 of the World Series on Fox. The episode was the number one non-sports program on the evening network, behind only the World Series.
The episode also averaged a 1.36 rating among adults 18-49, the second-highest rating of any show this season (slightly down from the season-high 1.38 a week ago).
The show also surpassed last year’s “Halloween Nights” by double digits in total viewers (+41% – 6.74 million vs. 4.77 million) and nearly doubled in adults 18-49 (+97% – 1.36 rating vs. 0.69 rating).
The show was the most-watched episode of “Dancing with the Stars” and “Halloween Night” in the past seven years (2018), and had the highest average viewership among adults 18-49 in eight years (2017), the network said.
The show, produced by BBC Studios, also recorded a record number of fan votes that night, with 55.26 million (4% up from 53.1 million the previous week).
According to ABC, “Dancing with the Stars” is the only fall show to increase overall viewership for six consecutive weeks after its season premiere since Nielsen electronic measurement began in September 1991.
Next week’s episode, “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night,” will air on Tuesday, November 4th at 8pm ET on ABC and Disney+, and will be available to stream on Hulu the next day. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Flavor Fluff will guest appear as a judge.
