Netflix is in the process of producing the third season of its Korean cooking competition Culinary Class Wars, implementing a major format change that moves the competition from a battle of individual chefs to a showdown between restaurant teams.

This relaunch restructures the hit series around four-person teams representing one facility. Structural axes transform competition from individual culinary prowess into a collective challenge where entire kitchens compete for pride and reputation.

Chef applications for Season 3 will be made via Netflix Korea’s social channels. Eligibility is limited to teams of four people currently employed by the same restaurant. Individual applications or cross-restaurant lineups will not be accepted, but restaurants operating under the same brand in multiple locations may apply as a unified team.

“Culinary Class Wars” maintains its presence on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV rankings for the second year in a row. Season 2 was particularly notable for its increased competitiveness, inventive rules structure, and increased stakes while maintaining the franchise’s core appeal.

Studio Slam returned to production for Season 3, reuniting the original creative team that helped shape the series’ trajectory, including producer Kim Eun-ji and screenwriter Mo Eun-sol.

“Thanks to the incredible support we received from viewers around the world throughout Season 2, we are grateful to be able to move forward with Season 3,” Kim said. “We will do our best to deliver more exciting formats and entertainment that will meet your expectations.”

The first season was widely credited with revitalizing Seoul’s dining scene, with increased restaurant reservations and renewed interest in Seoul’s culinary talent.
