Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov’s journey may be over for now – Heat Rivalry Season 2 likely won’t arrive until 2027 – but Hudson Williams and Conor Storey have the perfect solution to keep fans hooked.
The actors will be narrating Quinn’s three-episode immersive audio romance “Ember & Ice.” According to the official logline, Ember & Ice follows Daen and Finn, the fey princes of the rival kingdoms of Solari and Lunare. The series is “set in an imaginative fantasy world shaped by history, duty, and forbidden desire,” and is “a story of choosing love against expectations,” amplifying “every moment of tension, longing, and intimacy.”
Quinn admitted that the story wouldn’t read in an accent like in Heated Rivals, posting to X that “we tried.” In some of Quinn’s original stories, the protagonist speaks directly to the reader, but this is a gay romance, and there is no self-insert listening character.
“Hudson and Connor have a truly special chemistry and we feel incredibly lucky to be working with them,” said Quinn Founder and CEO Caroline Spiegel. “It’s inspiring to watch them connect with their audiences and participate in the cultural conversation.”
The first two episodes will be released on December 30th exclusively on Quinn, the leading audio erotica platform and destination for female-first audio erotica. The company works with both civilian narrators and voice actors known as “creators” to tell stories directly to viewers, with the listener as the protagonist.
Since 2022, Quinn Originals has partnered with several notable actors to lead the way in storytelling. Christopher Blaney joined after the end of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” Past narrators include Andrew Scott, Tom Bryce, Jamie Campbell-Bower, Manny Jacinto, Jesse Williams, Victoria Pedretti, Thomas Doherty, Lucien Ravicount, and Catherine Moennig.
This new romance comes on the heels of the “Heated Rivals” finale, which aired on December 26th. This Canadian series has been a huge hit for both Bell Media’s Crave streamer and HBO Max, and was renewed for a second season after they bought it and decided to push it out this year instead of waiting until 2026.
Casey Bloys was surprised at how quickly the show became a huge hit for the streamer. “We thought it was going to be a very specific, maybe gay-only show, but it’s actually aimed at a broader audience than that. From a business standpoint, the money we spent on the acquisition was an incredible investment,” he recently told Variety. “I’ve been working for HBO for over 20 years, and I’ve done a lot of shows that have sex scenes. What was interesting about this show is that it’s especially interesting for someone who’s been shut down for how long, especially on a show like a professional sports team, where it’s even harder to come out.” In a high-pressure situation — I think the sex was a little more reflective of the feeling of, “This will never happen again.” It was intense, but to me it seemed like it amplified what they were trying to do with the storytelling. That said, I’m not going to complain that they were attractive and hot. And like I said to Jacob (Tierney), I would say he’s very well directed. ”
