Claire Danes is well aware that she has become very famous and appreciated for crying on screen.

“It’s important,” she told me on the Golden Globes red carpet pre-show, a variety show presented by Fire TV. “My face is very elastic. I inherited it from my father. It’s something that happens unconsciously. It just happens.”

“Sorry, aren’t you sorry?” added the Dane. “I don’t know what to say.”

Danes was a Globe nominee Sunday for her work in the limited series “The Beast in Me.” Although she didn’t win this year, she already has four statues in her home, including her first statue in 1995 for her role as Angela in “My So Called Life.”

“I didn’t know what the Golden Globes were,” she said of the first time she attended the ceremony 31 years ago. “As a kid, it was all very shocking to me. I didn’t prepare for anything, but it was fun.”

“My So-Called Life” was a coming-of-age series about several teenagers living in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. The show, created by Winnie Holtzman, aired for one season on ABC. The cast also included Jared Leto, Wilson Cruz, Beth Armstrong, Devon Gummersall, AJ Lanpher, Devon Odessa, Lisa Wilhoit, and Tom Irwin.

“My So-Called Life” was nominated for four Emmy Awards, including Best Picture for the Danes.

Danes said she’s looking forward to the reunion or the “My So Called Life” reboot. “I’m really, really good friends with a lot of people on this show, especially Winnie Holtzman, who wrote the show. So, yeah, that would be great. I’d be very interested in some version.”

Where do you think Angela is now?

“She’s doing very well,” Danes said. “I believe in Angela. She helps people. She’s a very well-rounded person. I think she has some kids. I’m very supportive of Angela.”

She said the reboot could be called “My Mid So-Called Life.”
