Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Crime 101, starring Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry. The movie will be released in theaters on February 13th.
Set in Los Angeles, Crime 101 tells the story of an elusive jewel thief (Hemsworth) who plans a high-stakes heist on the 101 Freeway. While preparing for his final job, he meets an insurance broker (Berry) and the two end up working together. When a restless detective (Mark Ruffalo) approaches the operation and a multi-million dollar heist approaches, the line between hunter and pursued blurs and all three are forced to confront their actions.
Additional cast members for Crime 101 include Monica Barbaro, Barry Keoghan, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte, Tate Donovan, Devon Bostic, Payman Mahdi, Babak Tatfi, Deborah Hedwall, Paul Adelstein, Drew Powell, Matthew Del Negro, and John Douglas.
The film is an adaptation of Don Winslow’s novel of the same name. “Crime 101” is directed by Bart Layton (“American Animals,” “The Impostors”). Leighton co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Straughan, who won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for 2025’s Conclave.
Crime 101 is produced by Hemsworth, Leighton, Ben Grayson, Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Dimitri Doganis, Delin Schlesinger and Shane Salerno. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Raw, Working Title Films, The Story Factory and Wild Slate are producing the film. “Crime 101” will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios in the US, with overseas distribution handled by Sony Pictures Releasing International.
