Netflix has provided some first look images of “Beef” Season 2, which debuts on April 16th.
The teaser images show Charles Melton lifting weights, Cailee Spaeney looking worried in a hospital bed, Oscar Isaac driving a golf cart and Carey Mulligan considering a facelift.
In season 2 of “Beef,” “Minari” Oscar-winning actress Yoo Jung-yoon will appear as Chairman Park, and “Parasite” star Song Kang-ho will appear as Dr. Kim. Now, the Emmy Award-winning anthology series moves into the elitist world of country clubs, where “chess moves of favor and coercion” revolve around a billionaire South Korean owner. Melton and Spaeny play Austin and Ashley, a young couple working at a club who witness an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, Josh and Lindsey (played by Isaac and Mulligan). The recurring cast also includes William Fichtner as Troy, Michaela Huber as Eva, and BM as Woosh.
The season will consist of eight half-hour episodes, with creator Sung-jin Lee returning as showrunner and executive producer. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, who starred in the first season and served as executive producers, will continue as EPs, along with Jake Schreier, Sakurai Kitao, Ethan Cooperberg, and Anna Ojan Moench, as well as Mulligan, Isaac, Melton, and Spaney. This series is produced by A24.
“Beef” returns more than three years after season 1 premiered. Season 1 told the story of two strangers whose lives become dangerously intertwined after a street assault. Season 2 was not officially confirmed until October 2024, but series creator Lee hinted at an anthology of the limited series during the 2023 awards ceremony.
