Bruce Springsteen gave a surprise performance after the premiere of the New York Film Festival, a “Nebraska”-centric biopic starring “Nebraska”-centric Jeremy Allen White as the boss.
The film went out on October 24th through a 20th century studio and made a big splash in Manhattan. There, Springsteen joined White and his co-stars Jeremy Strong, Stephen Graham, Odessa Young and Gabby Hoffman on stage at Alice Tully Hall.
Before playing “Land of Hopes and Dreams” on acoustic guitar, Springsteen talks about the film and thanked her for “playing a much better looking version.” Ribing his longtime manager, John Landau, Springsteen went on to say he was deeply grateful for playing “a much better looking version of John.”
The Rock legend also honored his late parents, Douglas “The Netherlands” Springsteen and Adele Springsteen. He is portrayed in the film by Graham and Hoffman. “It’s nice to have this movie because they’re all gone,” Springsteen said.
After a series of gratitude, Springsteen said: “There are daily events these days that remind us of the fact that we live in these particularly dangerous times. I spent my life on the roads and traveled around the world as an American music ambassador.
He said, “But for many people there, she remains a land of hope and dreams, not fear, division, government censorship or hatred.”
