Britney Spears’ family is reportedly extremely scared of her after seeing footage of her swerving in a dangerous direction while driving home from a night out with friends.
Pop star’s family is ‘terrified’ Spears is ‘losing control’, the Daily Mail reported, comparing her erratic behavior to her behavior before her breakdown in 2007, when she shaved her head and lost custody of her two sons with Kevin Federline.
The family is reportedly currently in crisis talks about how to help Spears.
“There are a lot of concerns. Everyone has always wanted what’s best for her, and she’s now showing that she’s making the wrong choices,” a source told the outlet.
“It’s scary,” the source continued. “So there’s a lot of discussion about what to do if something were to happen. How can we protect her from herself?”
Some sources have suggested that Spears should be returned to conservatorship, even though her controversial father Jamie Spears’ conservatorship ended in 2021, the newspaper reported.
Spears’ complicated legal arrangement, in which her life was tightly controlled, ended after 13 years, largely due to an outcry from her fans who sparked the #FreeBritney movement.
“When Jamie finally stepped in to protect his daughter, he became public enemy number one,” the source said.
“People were saying he was trying to get her money, but that’s not true,” the source continued. “So the question is whether someone should step in to help her and deal with the backlash.”
Spears’ representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Shocking video footage obtained by Page Six shows the “Toxic” singer, 43, leaving the Red O Restaurant in Thousand Oaks, Calif., last Wednesday despite people urging him not to get behind the wheel.
The singer’s black BMW convertible continued making unsteady U-turns, its tires screeching.
Further erratic driving included her meandering into other car lanes and bicycle lanes on her way home. At one point, she also crossed the median of the road.
Spears has recently been in the headlines due to her ex-husband’s revealing memoir, “You Thought You Knew,” in which he makes serious accusations against the pop icon.
The charges include allegedly using cocaine while breastfeeding Sean Preston, now 20, and Jayden James, now 19, and wishing the boys were dead.
Spears’ publicist said on page 6 of Federline’s memoir: “He and others are profiting off of her. Sadly, this is after child support with Kevin was terminated. All she cares about is her children… and their well-being in this sensational activity.”
As her drama with Federline escalated, Spears claimed in an Instagram post that she suffered brain damage from what she claimed was a previous experience of being dominated.
“I feel like my wings were ripped off and my brain was 100 percent damaged…Of course I have recovered from that difficult period in my life and am happy to be alive,” she wrote in part.
She also accused Federline of “gaslighting” and telling “blank lies” about her in his memoir.
