Britney Spears drove multiple cars “aggressively” and almost skidded before being arrested and charged with driving under the influence in March.
“We’re reporting an erratic driver,” one caller said in a 911 call obtained exclusively by Page Six. “They drive a BMW.”
The caller described their location, adding that the BMW was seen “weaving in and out of lanes” and “braking erratically.”
The driver, speaking on condition of anonymity, added: “He almost skidded several cars. He was traveling at high speed. I’m worried he might hit someone.”
The second caller told a California Highway Patrol dispatcher, “There may be a drunk driver. It’s a black BMW. He’s randomly weaving in and out of lanes.”
“It almost skidded three or four cars,” the official added. “I’m loosely following them.”
Mr. Spears was arrested and charged with drunk driving on March 4th.
According to a police report obtained by Page Six, officers detected a “distinctive odor of an alcoholic beverage” coming from the vehicle. She reportedly told the officer: “If you drink four bottles of wine, maybe I can take care of you. I’m an angel.”
The report said Spears admitted to taking prescription medications during the day, including mood stabilizers, antidepressants and 2.5mg of an ADHD drug.
Her eyes were “red and watery” and her speech was “rapid and slurred.” He also claimed that she had “sudden mood swings” as she sometimes spoke with a British accent and her mood changed from “confrontational and agitated to flamboyant”.
The singer entered a rehab facility on April 12 for drug abuse.
“This was her own choice,” a source told Page Six at the time. “This isn’t about one specific substance, it’s two-fold. … This is about Britney putting her mental health first and taking time to focus on what’s important to her.”
The source added, “She is diligent about taking care of her health. This is something she really wants to do for herself. This was her own decision.”
Spears’ attorney Michael Goldstein appeared in Ventura County Superior Court on May 4 on behalf of the songstress.
His attorney accepted a “wet reckless” offer to reduce charges related to reckless driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is used for first offenses, low blood alcohol levels, and no collision or injury.
Spears will receive an unofficial one-year trial stipend and will be required to attend and complete three months of alcohol school, totaling 30 hours.
“Through today’s arguments, Brittany accepted responsibility for her actions. She has taken important steps to effect positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charges in this case and dismiss the DUI charge,” Goldstein told Page Six.
“Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
A source close to Spears recently said she was “doing much better” after spending time in a rehab facility, but she was allegedly seen barking, screaming and brandishing a knife at a restaurant in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Witness Jeff Snyder claimed to Page Six that Spears “sat down and yelled and barked a lot and was abusive.”
He claimed the “Toxic” singer may have “forgot to put down the silverware” and had a knife with him.
“I didn’t receive any threats or anything,” he said. “But when she finally left, I looked back and thought, ‘Oh my god, that was crazy!’ throughout the section. ”
But Snyder claimed that one woman said of the pop star: “She came at me with a knife. I thought she was going to stab me.”
A representative for Spears told Page Six that this was completely out of proportion, claiming: “Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. She was simply talking about her dog barking at a neighbor.”
“She never used a knife to endanger anyone. She was cutting a hamburger in half.”
