This feels like a good opportunity for Bert Kreischer to take off his shirt and celebrate. Netflix has renewed the stand-up comedian’s scripted comedy “Free Bart” for a second season.

The relaunch comes ahead of the 2026 edition of comedy festival Netflix Is a Joke, in which Kreischer is scheduled to play a key role. He will once again participate in the 2 Bears 5K, a morning fun run he hosts with Tom Segura and Jelly Roll on May 9 at the Rose Bowl. The fest will also host “Bart and Shaq’s Crowd Work Show” on May 8 at the Comedy Store.

“Free Bart” began streaming on January 22nd, and Netflix announced that the show has reached the top 10 worldwide. Recently, the first season of “Free Bart” premiered on January 22, 2026 and entered the world top 10. Kreischer co-stars with Arden Milin, Eva Ryan, and Lilloo Lang.

Kreischer created the series with Jarrad Paul and Andy Mogel. Paul and Mogel serve as showrunners, writers and directors. Here is the logline for season 1: “Shirtless comedian, party legend, and eternal wildcard, Bert Kreischer finds himself in uncharted territory when his daughters are accepted to an elite private school in Beverly Hills. When his uninhibited antics turn his family into outcasts, he decides to “put on a shirt” and stifle his true nature in order to better fit in. ”

“We are extremely grateful to Netflix for believing in this show and giving us the opportunity to continue releasing Bart,” Paul and Mogel said in a joint statement.

Kreischer executive produces with LeeAnne Kreischer, Tony Hernandez, Lily Burns and Elise Henderson for Counterpart Studios and Judy Marmell.

Season 2 of “Free Bart” will once again be filmed in Atlanta, where Netflix says it has also filmed “Stranger Things” and “His & Hers,” as well as the upcoming films “This So Sweet,” “All the Sinners Bleed,” “Sweet Magnolia” Season 5 and “A Different World.”

Kreischer has become a familiar face at Netflix, having aired five stand-up specials on the platform. He will also serve as the tailgate correspondent on Netflix’s NFL Christmas Game Day, appear on “WWE Monday Night Raw” several times, and be part of Netflix’s MLB Opening Night coverage.
