Nick Cannon was “Wild” after he and Mariah Carey’s divorce.
The “Masked Singer” host confirmed on Monday on “The Breakfast Club” that being a 12-time father was a “traumatic reaction” from the breakup.
Actor 44 called his actions “careless” and “frivolous.”
“If I had done my job (and) after my divorce, I would have spent many other scenarios,” he explained.
“For some reason, I thought it was the answer in many cases, like, ‘Oh, I’m going to get it here.’ Now you are leaving the trauma at every stage of the road rather than revising it from its origin. ”
Host charlamagne tha god shared a clip of the interview via Instagram, saying, “Trauma reactions can appear in people’s lives in many ways!”
Cannon welcomed twins Morocco and Monroe, now 14, while marrying Carrie, 56, from 2008 to 2016.
After calling him the singer, the former Nickelodeon star moved along with Brittany Bell.
The “Drumline” star is also the father of Abby de la Rosa’s three children. They have twin sons Zion and Zillion, four of them and two beautiful daughters.
Additionally, Cannon welcomes her daughter, Onix, 3, along with Ranisha Cole, son Renderly, 3, Brettai and daughter Hello, 2, Alyssa Scott.
He and Scott’s first child, son Zen, passed away in December 2021.
Looking back on the family expansion on Monday, Cannon said: “I had money…I had access to anyone.
“It must be, ‘Yeah, I’m going to have 12 children,'” he added. “It was like, ‘Yes, I just live and enjoy life, what happens, what happens, what happens, I can handle it.’ ”
The “all” alum said he wasn’t “acting” but could have “a little more thought into the process” and “taken time to actually do the inner work.”
“In certain scenarios things could have been a little different.” Cannon told radio listeners.
Social media users have had mixed reactions to the rapper’s confession, with many “proud” fans praising his “mature” transparent” revelation.
But others argued that they shouldn’t have “taken 12 children to grasp,” and said, “Imagine hearing this, imagining that they were his child.”
In March, Cannon claimed the “We Playin’ Spades” podcast to be “not complete” with children.
“As to whether a wild “n” host imagines baby number 13 with a new woman or ex-partner, he said, “I don’t know. That’s what I mean. I’ll leave it to the main.”
