Her lips are not sealed.
Ashley Tisdale criticized a group of former “toxic” moms, including Hilary Duff, Meghan Trainor and Mandy Moore, in a scathing essay for The Cut.
The former Disney Channel star reflected on feeling “not cool enough” after being locked out of places to hang out in an article on Thursday.
She recalled, “One night, after putting (my daughter) to bed, I was sitting alone, completely at a loss as to what was ‘wrong’ with (her) being left behind.”
The 40-year-old actress went on to text the group saying, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to be a part of it anymore.”
Although she has “never thought of mothers as bad people (though they may be one of them)” she chose to cut ties with them after “the relationship was no longer a healthy, positive one.”
Tisdale, who shares daughters Jupiter, 4, and daughter Emerson, 1, with husband Christopher French, previously wrote in a candid blog post about the rift that “left[her]in tears”.
She slammed the “mean girl behavior” and isolation of the “ugly” group, which left her feeling “hurt, exhausted and left behind” over time.
“We realized that there were group text chains that didn’t include everyone, which led to the formation of cliques within larger groups,” she explained. “And after seeing social media photos of other members joining hangouts they weren’t invited to for the third or fourth time, I felt like I wasn’t really part of the group after all.”
The “High School Musical” star did not name the members of the group in either case, but while she no longer follows Duff, 38, and Moore, 41, on Instagram, she still follows Traynor, 32.
Representatives for Mr. Duff, Mr. Moore and Mr. Traynor have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment on Mr. Tisdale’s essay.
The A-list mom group has been making headlines for years.
While speaking to People in December 2024 about their bond, Duff gushed that they have a close-knit crew who are “in the trenches together.”
“Even though we’re pop stars, even though we’re on TV, the big thing that we feel connected to each other is that we love our kids,” the “Lizzie McGuire” alum raved at the time. “When we first got together and started music lessons at my house, they were little baby bugs.
“Right now we’re in art class together, we’re in gymnastics class together, and we’re just like moms,” the “Metamorphosis” singer continued.
Moore told InStyle how “grateful” she was to join the Cool Mom Club in May 2022.
“For some reason, I got invited to it, and it was awesome,” the “This Is Us” alum said. “I’ve made so many great friends.
