Ariana Grande is in her feelings.
During an interview with Evan Ross-Katz on the podcast “Shut Up Evan” on Friday, Oct. 24, Evan Ross-Katz became emotional when the host surprised him with a voicemail from Sarah Jessica Parker.
“I know you’re a big fan of Sarah Jessica Parker, and as I was getting ready for today, I wanted to get some people on the phone and ask some questions, so I wanted to add the icon Sarah Jessica Parker to the conversation,” Katz told Grande, 32.
The host then played a voicemail from the Sex and the City actress.

“Hello, Ariana. This is Sarah Jessica. I have a question for you…She is a very extraordinary talent and has achieved authority and a kind of control over her career at this point and for quite some time,” Parker, 60, said.
She continued, “My A. question is when she was little…what did her parents, siblings, coworkers, or even just a little girl imagine she would think when she said, ‘I want to be an actor?'” What did she think and understand what that meant, and how…how radically different is it? ”
When the voicemail went out, Grande appeared in disbelief, but then opened up about how much the moment meant to her.
“I love her so much. What a thoughtful, kind, considerate question…I’m so shocked and I’m so sorry. I can’t believe she even knows me,” she said before starting to get emotional.
The “We Can’t Be Friends” singer then responded to her question by saying, “Absolutely not.”
“I think she feels the same way. I was focused on art and singing and laughter and comedy and performing and acting and all the things that I really wanted. I’m a nerd, a theater kid, a writer. I like to make people laugh, I like to get into characters, and that’s always what excites me the most,” she explained.

“The fame factor is unique and difficult to navigate,” Grande added. “Especially as a human…I feel everything. And I think that’s my gift and sometimes my curse. But it’s really weird. I don’t think I was ready for that part.”
Grande concluded by stating that she’s “proud” of the work she’s done to separate herself from the elements of fame, but is still “figuring it out.”
The singer and actress is currently gearing up for the release of Wicked: For Good on November 21st. They are planning to embark on the long-awaited Eternal Sunshine Tour in March next year.
