Ariana Grande has changed forever.
The “Wicked” star has officially returned to her brunette hair after playing Good Witch in the movie musical for three years, bidding farewell to her Glinda blonde days.
The 32-year-old pop star revealed her natural color change in a mirror selfie she posted to Instagram Wednesday morning, showing off her shiny brown curls styled in soft waves. “It’s nice to meet you, right?✨,” Grande captioned the photo, which quickly racked up more than 1.8 million likes.
The “Yes, And?” singer made sure to credit her glam team, tagging London-based hair colorist Francesco de Chiara, hairstylist Alix Liu, and makeup artist Michael Anthony.
De Chiara, who first bleached Grande’s black hair to blonde in October 2022 for her dream role, reposted the photo on her Instagram Stories with the caption, “Here she is 🥰❤️❤️” and added, “She’s back🤎🤎.”
Fans flooded the comments with congratulations on brunette Ali’s return. “Ah, brown hair is back!!” one follower commented: “Another moment in history.”
Grande’s makeup artist Anthony called out, “My gorgeous muse ✨ 🤎✨.”
Grande’s hair has been blonde since she began filming Jon M. Chu’s two-part film adaptation of the Broadway musical.
The first “Wicked” movie was released in theaters in November 2024 after a months-long press tour in which Grande sported a pink outfit inspired by Glinda.
The sequel, Wicked: For Good, is set to premiere on November 21, 2025, but the Oscar nominee is apparently ready to shed her character’s blonde hair ahead of the next press cycle.
Before “Wicked,” Grande was known for her long, dark ponytail, which was so iconic that she even dedicated a song to it. (On “Hair,” the pop star sings, “Please know this isn’t the usual me/But I might let it down for you.”)
This isn’t the first time Grande has teased a return to brunette this year. In April, she briefly went back to brown for the short film Brighter Days Ahead, which is part of the deluxe version of her album Eternal Sunshine, and wore her auburn hair in a slick high ponytail.
Fans went wild at the time, but her eyebrows remained bleached and she quickly went back to blonde.
