Anya Taylor-Joy looked absolutely divine at the 2025 Governors Awards.
Taylor-Joy’s sheer white dress by Maison Margiela Couture featured a corseted waistline, a weightless cascading skirt, and a cape-like train that fell off her shoulders.
As an accessory, she wore Tiffany jewelry. Akoya pearl and diamond necklaces, diamond drop earrings, Soleste diamond rings, and the new Birds on a Rock Wings ring.
The gown was originally unveiled this summer on the design house’s Fall 2025 Haute Couture runway. On the runway, models also wore white face coverings to match the show.
In fact, every look in the show included a face covering, and creative director Glenn Martens’ Margiela debut was more about the artistry of the clothes than the person wearing them.
Taylor-Joy isn’t the first to wear a gown from this collection. Just a month ago, Kim Kardashian made headlines when she wore a similar version at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala.
Kardashian wore a nude-toned strapless version of the collection, but opted for a matching face covering as she walked the runway, leaving the glam squad “in silent tears” after flawlessly completing her discreet hair and makeup.
Kardashian is no stranger to wearing a face covering. She also focused on her look for the 2021 Met Gala, where she wore a Balenciaga masked ensemble.
But Taylor-Joy kept her beauty simple with center-parted hair flowing down her back and minimal natural makeup.
The actress has yet to post the outfit on Instagram, but a photo was shared on @checkthetag, with one commenter hysterically pointing out, “No one would show Kim K this.”
Others noted Taylor-Joy’s otherworldly demeanor, writing: “She looks so dreamy” and “She’s an angel!” “This is how to wear Margiela’s new couture! It’s magical and fairy-like.”
The wide-eyed blonde actress gives off an angelic vibe no matter what she wears. This latest look makes it even more noticeable by simply adding a halo and feathers.
