Ant Anstead has shared details of an injury he sustained while playing soccer in a new social media caption.
“October may officially be gone!” Anstead captioned a photo of himself lying shirtless with injuries including a torn labrum, torn pectoral muscle and torn rotator cuff.
“Three of my closest and dearest friends received terrible diagnoses! This made me take a closer look at my health and led me down many rabbit holes…diet, peptides, body scans, vitamins, etc.,” he wrote on Saturday.
“So, Whammo!! A freak soccer accident left me with a torn pectoral muscle and torn rotator cuff and labrum!”
The 46-year-old TV personality went on to explain that he was “forced to take a break” after the surgery.
“So I’m taking this as a sign! And I’m in the age group where I need to take this thing more seriously, so I’m going back down the health rabbit hole! And I’m going to be healthier and kinder to my body.”
He ended his post with, “Thanks for all the advice… x 🙏🏻.”
Fans of the semi-professional soccer player took to the comment thread to sympathize with the “Wheelers Dealers” host and offer advice.
“Get well soon 🤞,” one follower wrote, while another added, “🤦♂️ Stay strong Dan.”
“Be healthy 5-6 days a week. Have one cheat day. Everything in moderation. Life is short. Enjoy it,” a third person advised, while a fourth advised: “Stop drinking completely, cut down on sugar, get plenty of sleep, and get plenty of exercise.”
Zellweger, the girlfriend of two-time Oscar winner Renée Zellweger and also known for her volatile divorce from Christina Haack, made headlines in May when it was revealed that Zellweger was staying with a wealthy divorcee while filming Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building in New York.
A representative for the television host told Page Six at the time that nothing romantic happened between French and Anstead.
“Mr. Anstead primarily works in the United Kingdom and spends a limited portion of his time back in (Orange County) at a friend’s home,” they said at the time.
“His friend Jules owns another independent guest house and any suggestion that their relationship is not platonic is unacceptable and untrue.”
The TV presenter and “The Flip Off” star, who was married from 2018 to 2021, appear to have repaired their co-parenting relationship, with the couple having a 6-year-old son, Hudson.
“Teacher conference week… Hudzo is thriving!” Anstead wrote on Instagram in October, referring warmly to his ex-wife.
“We’ve got your back! We’re doing a great job with this little boy! Great job mom!”
