New year, new? No, says Andy Cohen.
The 57-year-old Bravo chief raised some eyebrows on Dec. 31 when she appeared refreshed on CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live,” which she co-hosted with Anderson Cooper. However, he takes this facelift speculation as a compliment.
“I’m very honored,” Cohen said on the Jan. 5 episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.” “I love the speculation that it changed my face dramatically.”
However, the ‘Watch What Happens Live’ host clarified that she has not had any plastic surgery and has only had minor alterations.
“I’ve only had a little bit of Botox,” he explained. “There are four minor veneers on the front, so it’s pretty minor.”
Cohen also addressed going a little overboard in the makeup chair before the broadcast, asking Cooper’s makeup artist to go for a more bronzed tone than usual.
“She was like, ‘Are you OK?'” he recalled. “It’s like, ‘Yeah, warm it up a little bit. Make it more tan.'”
The extra color didn’t go unnoticed by viewers at home. “I got a lot of comments like, ‘Wow, this is a devastated woman,'” Cohen said with a laugh.
One thread user was particularly candid about the host’s new look, writing, “What did he do to his face?! Is he trying to find a new husband at Mar-a-Lago?”
Cohen answered candidly, “With minimal Botox, I lost 20 pounds! And I wore a lot of makeup.”
Monica Lewinsky defended Cohen against the criticism, calling him “(very) handsome.”
Cohen’s use of Botox is a relatively recent phenomenon. In March, during the Married to Medicine season 11 reunion, he tried the procedure for the first time, admitting that he had “a few” injections about a month ago.
As late as November 2024, he told the podcast How to Fail that he had never tried injectables, despite years of encouragement from the late Joan Rivers.
“Before Joan Rivers died, she used to beg me to get Botox,” he said at the time. “And all the guys I know who host TV shows, they’re mostly younger than me or around my age. They’ve all had Botox treatments.”
The legendary comedian first gave this advice nearly 20 years ago, when the two were working on a 2006 pilot.
“When I went to audition, the first thing she said was, ‘You’ve got to get Botox. You’ve got to get Botox,'” he told Today in 2014. “I’ve never had one and I thought it would be a good idea to get a little hit last night in Joan’s honor. I think it would be a great tribute to her.”
As for weight loss, Cohen has publicly stated that he lost about 20 pounds by “microdosing” GLP-1 drugs (a class of drugs that includes Ozempic and Munjaro).
“I wasn’t really happy with my weight,” the father of two said on his radio show in September. “Last year, my doctor and I talked about this and recommended GLP-1 several times to not only address how I was feeling about my weight, but also to treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure.”
