Barry Poznick, general manager of unscripted television at Amazon MGM Studios, is leaving his current position at the company.
Poznick will begin a three-year executive producer deal with the studio in January, after nearly a decade as head of MGM Alternatives.
Poznick will continue to serve as an executive producer on all of MGM’s reality series, including “The Voice,” “Shark Tank,” “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” “Vanderpump Rules,” and “American Gladiator.”
Poznick joined MGM in 2016 as president of alternative television under Mark Burnett, then chairman of Worldwide Television Group.
Following Amazon’s acquisition of MGM in 2022, Poznick was named to his current role of general manager. While working as an unscripted lead at Amazon, Poznick developed new series including “Are Your Smarter Than a Celebrity,” hosted by Travis Kelce, “007: Road to a Million” with Brian Cox, and the upcoming “American Gladiators” reboot with The Miz and Roxi Diaz.
Below is a memo from Amazon MGM Studios boss Peter Friedlander to staff, obtained by Variety, announcing Poznick’s departure and the move to a production deal.
