The 1995 film Clueless is undoubtedly an iconic fashion movie.
Between the head-turning ’90s style and Cher Horowitz’s ahead-of-its-time high-tech closet app, the “Clueless” wardrobe lives on in our heads, rent-free.
But where is the wardrobe actually located? Unfortunately, Alicia Silverstone has given it all up.
“Before I did Clueless, I was really a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I had no interest in fashion at all,” Silverstone said in an interview with People magazine.
However, after filming, she tried to bring home her character’s coveted wardrobe.
“After I did[‘Clueless’]I thought, ‘Oh, I want these clothes, I’m going to wear these clothes.'” I’m not that girl, so it was a fantasy. Who wears Mary Jane and high stockings everywhere they go? ”
“I ended up getting rid of all my clothes because I realized they had no use in my life, and I was foolish enough to let them all go,” Silverstone added.
Gia Coppola, granddaughter of director Francis Ford Coppola, is the lucky recipient of this luxury collection. Sadly, the 38-year-old director also doesn’t know the whereabouts of the clothing.
“Lord only knows what Gia did to them. Gia doesn’t know where they are either, so she must have let them go too. They’re all gone,” Silverstone laments.
A farce. Children of the 90’s are crying all over the world.
Silverstone is set to reprise her 1995 role of Cher in Peacock’s upcoming sequel series, but it’s clear she won’t be wearing the same outfit.
From Cher’s little red dress to her yellow plaid skirt suit, we hope the person who owns this collection of the best clothes knows what they have in their wardrobe.
