Isn’t it for Botox? no problem.
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Lisa Barlow counts thread lifts as her favorite facial beauty treatment.
“Never knock on the thread, they’re the best they can do for themselves,” Barlow, 50, told Page 6 virtual reality hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy on Tuesday.
“I don’t like fillers, I don’t like putting Botox on my face,” she explained. “My mother said, ‘Why do you put botulinum addiction in your brain?” Botox is limited, but threads are a way to get a natural boost and lift. ”
Barlow responded to accusations that she had received a facelift and praised the thread for her subtle changes to her face and neck.
The reality star explained that she first went through a controversial procedure about nine years ago, consulting only certain cosmetic practitioners.
“You can have tight (en), lift (and) sculptures and leave on the same day,” she said. “You can get a beautiful brow lift, you can do that much, and I think it’s worth the money. It’s $3,500, you’re leaving and you say, ‘I look amazing.'”
Barlow reveals, “There’s nothing wrong with getting a facelift,” and says, “We’re all aging. I’m not anti-(facelift) at all. I think it’s better than filling a face full of filler.”
“But for me, the thread, and you can know that when I have a thread and when I don’t,” she said.
The Bravo star shares that she is “comfortable” with her “naturally clean features” and thanks her for blessing to Jesus, God and her parents.
“You can do something to enhance it. And you should not be embarrassed for it. And it’s okay to do what you chose to do. But I want to be natural too,” continued Barlow.
“I feel comfortable in both ways,” she said. “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with aging naturally and aging quite a bit as an older woman. I think I’m still young.”
Plastic surgeons in northern Arizona define the lifting force of thread as “they aim to lift and tighten the skin and target the chin, cheeks, brows and neck,” stimulate “collagen production” and “improve skin texture and stiffness.”
However, many health professionals do not recommend thread lifting due to unpredictable outcomes of procedures, effects that last only last up to 18 months, and “potential complications” and “long-term effects.”
“We recommend that patients avoid procedures that do not yet have a well-established safety profile and extensive long-term data,” says Dr. Adam Botcher.
Similarly, Real Self warns that improper placement of thread lifts can cause complications such as “extrusion (where the thread protrudes from the skin) and depressions.”
Thread movement and nerve damage are also possible.
The site also points out that it is popular because the threads are non-invasive and the procedure takes around an hour with minimal anesthesia.
Last year, “The Real Housewives of Miami” star Alexia Nepola became openly about her thread lifting, and soon caused “swelling and bruises” after fans noticed a discoloration on her face.
