Jamie Lee Curtis sobbed Mark Maron’s “WTF” podcast when he raised Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old conservative activist who was fatally shot in the head at the University of Utah on September 10th and co-founder of Turning Point USA. Curits and Maron recorded the podcast a few days after the assassination.
“I’m going to nurture something with you, just because it’s in front of my heart,” Curtis said before misnamed Kirk “Charlie Crist.”
Curtis shed tears as he discussed Kirk’s murder. “I disagreed with him on almost every point he heard, but I believe he is a man of faith.
“It was 9/11 yesterday. I know there’s a video of his assassination, and I know who’s seen it,” Curtis shed tears. “Yesterday (9/11), we saw these images of those buildings descending down. …Today, we are being attacked by images as society. So we don’t know if the longitudinal effect of seeing those towers repeat themselves over and over again, or if he will be seen again and again.”
Curtis said, “We re-emphasized the cycle of Kirk’s death video.
Many of Hollywood’s prominent liberals opposed Kirk’s murder in the days following the assassination. Jimmy Kimmel took her to Instagram to post “Can we just agree in one day that shooting another person is a scary and monster instead of an angry finger pointing? On behalf of our family, we send love to all children, parents, and innocent people who fall into victims of meaningless gun violence.” ”
“We’ve seen a lot of very despicable reactions to this from both sides of the political spectrum,” Kimmel later said. “Some people support this, and this is something I don’t understand.”
