Nearly four years after Batman became a huge hit in 2022, the “Part II” script will finally be performed, with filming scheduled to begin early next year.
“We’ll start filming (the film) in the spring, probably around the end of April or early May,” director Matt Reeves told variety show Mark Malkin on the Emmy’s red carpet. “It’s been a long journey, but I’m very excited. I’m really proud of the script that Mattson and I did. I started sharing it with Robert (Pattinson).”
Reeves revealed his excitement about returning to Gotham’s gritty world, and the length of the “Batman” team had to go to continue rapping the script. “We put (the script) in a secret pouch that literally locks it in code. (Pattinson) is in New York at the time and everything is high security.”
After reading the script, Pattinson now keeps the script in a locked pouch. “I really trust Rob because he’s the best.”
Reeves served as executive producer and writing supervisor for HBO’s “The Penguin.” Although Season 1 is labelled as a limited series, Reeves has revealed that the team is actively considering a potential second season. “We’re having an argument. (Showrunner) Lauren (Le Fran) is thinking hard and we’re talking, so we love the show. I think our cast is so incredible. The work that Lauren and the writers did was incredible.
