The ring didn’t mean anything.
Nina Dobrev threw away her engagement ring during a red carpet appearance at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend. A few days before news surfaced that she and Sean White had split after five years of dating.
The Vampire Diaries alumni took part in the premiere of “Eternal” at TIFF at Reuthamson Hall in Toronto, Ontario on Sunday.
When Dobrev, 36, posed on the red carpet for a photo, was surprised by his spaghetti strap black silk gown and sparkling silver stiletto.
However, the 5-carat diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz was significantly missing from the left hand.
Dobrev’s outing came four days before the pair’s nearby sources told people that the actress and White, 39, had ended their engagement.
“It was a mutual decision, not an easy decision, but it was made with love and deep respect for each other,” an insider told the outlet Thursday.
Dobrev and the professional snowboarder took the final photo of them running errands together in Los Angeles on August 31st.
The actress from “DeGrassi the Next Generation” posted a carousel of the photo earlier this week.
It is unclear why Dobrev and White stopped doing that. Page 6 contacted the representative for comment but did not respond immediately.
Last October, the pair confirmed their involvement on Instagram.
“Hello RIP Boyfriend, my fiancé💍♾️,” Dobrev captioned the post.
“I was shocked,” Dobrev told Vogue a surprising suggestion. “I just froze and stared at him.”
The couple later joined by close friends to celebrate exciting news with caviar, champagne, dumplings and shake shaks.
