A shakeup for “Saturday Night Live” continues as Ben Marshall is directed towards the feature cast. Also featured players include Veronika Srowikowska, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson and Tommy Brennan.
The news is part of a larger roster refresh on “SNL,” with Heidi Gardner leaving this week after eight seasons, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker after three seasons, and Emile Wakim after one season.
Season 51 will be Marshall’s fifth season on the NBC Sketch Show. Become a member of the comedy trio first. (Member John Higgins has left SNL, while Martin Helihee remains on the staff as a writer.)
Srowikowska is best known for her viral comedy sketches posted on Instagram with 1 million followers, and for her nearly 700,000 Tiktok. Her acting credits include Shane Gillis’ Netflix comedy series “Tires” and FX’s “What We Do with Shadows.”
Culhane is also prolific on social media, regularly appearing on dropout television shows, performing alongside Los Angeles’ Upright Civic Brigade.
Stand-up comedian Patterson is featured regularly on Tony Hinchcliffe’s podcast “Kill Tony,” and then seen in Kevin Hart’s Netflix film “72 Hours.”
Brennan was named the comedy list for Just for Just For Who Laughter’s new face comedy in 2023, performing a stand-up comedy on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Three seasons later, Walker announced his departure from “SNL” on Instagram on August 25th, saying, “Me and I did the show together for three years. Sometimes it was really cool. It was toxic like hell.
“I won’t be back in SNL next year. It was a gut punch to get, but I am very grateful for my time there,” Wakim wrote in his announcement. “Every time I scan a building, I think about how crazy it is to work there. It’s the most frightening, thrilling and rewarding experience of my life, and I miss all the wonderful people who work there felt like home.”
“Saturday Night Live” Season 51 will premiere on NBC on October 4th. The new season marked the 50th anniversary of the landmark with a three-hour television broadcast with several documentaries, Radio City Music Hall concert specials and the legend of “SNL”.
