Paramount+’s multi-cam comedy “Crutch” has ended after just one season, Variety reports.
The series, starring Tracy Morgan in the title role, originally debuted on Paramount+ in November 2025.
The news of the series ending isn’t all that surprising considering it didn’t garner a huge audience when it debuted, and Morgan’s commitments to other projects. Most notably, Morgan is currently starring in the NBC comedy “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.” The show premiered on NBC in January 2026 and was renewed for a second season in May. Additionally, the casting option expired a while ago and many of the cast moved on to other projects.
The cancellation leaves Paramount+ with just one live-action comedy on its current schedule: Australian import Colin from Accounts. The streamer is instead focusing on dramas like Taylor Sheridan’s “The Landman,” “Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch,” and the British crime drama “Mobland.”
“Clutch” centers on Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan), the character of its title called “Clutch.” He is described as “a brash but beloved Harlem shopkeeper who finds his world turned upside down when a pompous son and free-spirited daughter return to the Crutchfield family.”
The series is set in the world of “The Neighborhood,” one of CBS’ original comedy series, and Morgan appeared in a crossover episode of “Clutch” on the same day that it debuted on Paramount+.
Additional cast members for “Clutch” included Jermaine Fowler, Kesia Lewis, Adriana Mitchell, Adrian Martinez, Braxton Paul, and Finn Maroney.
Crutch is the product of Cedric the Entertainer and his production company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment. The series is executive produced by Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone, and created by Owen Smith, who also served as executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers for “Crutch” included Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan, TrillTV’s Wendy Trilling, Mike Mariano and Morgan. The series was produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of the Paramount+ market.
