Dr. Terry Dubrow has slammed Vicki Gunvalson, who claims she inherited a fortune from her late brother, Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow.
Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” interviewed Terry, 67, Wednesday afternoon at his wife’s annual “Champs with Heather Dubrow” event at the Four Seasons in midtown Manhattan.
When asked about his reaction to Gunvalson’s shocking theory, which was brought up in the season 20 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County, that some of his wealth came from his brother’s inheritance, Terry said he was “offended.”
Kevin, who died of an accidental overdose in 2007 at the age of 52, was the lead singer of the 1980s rock band Quiet Riot and wrote hits such as “Come on Feel the Noise” and “Bang Your Head (Metal Health).”
But Terry, who is a famous plastic surgeon and has appeared on several reality shows with his wife, claims he built his wealth from nothing, saying he started working “at 10 years old” and was “on call all through medical school.”
“Everything I did, other than what Heather contributed, was my own work, and that was huge,” Terry said. “So, to say that I inherited any amount of property from my brother is, first of all, completely false.”
Terry called Gunvalson’s accusations “insensitive” and “mean to (Kevin’s) memory.” He said the money his brother had at the time of his death would have gone to his mother who was “alive”, but said Kevin’s last successful album was in 1984, so the funds left at the time of his brother’s death were not “significant”.
“I don’t understand why she would try to capitalize on our success,” Terry fumed. “Maybe that speaks to how she feels about her level of success, but at the end of the day, it’s not true.”
Terry also said in an interview with TMZ that he hasn’t heard from Gunvalson since he bet $100,000 to prove him wrong.
“It’s like a ghost town. There are tumbleweeds growing in the East Texas towns that were evacuated. There’s nothing there,” Terry said. “It’s amazing how she goes on everyone’s podcasts and does all the interviews and tries to bring it up. But when it comes time to put her money where her mouth is, she doesn’t do anything.”
Although he hasn’t received a call from Gunvalson yet, the “Botched” star said his initial bet still stands.
“If you want to say that, fine. Say it. But bet,” he urged. “Until you bet me $100,000 that I didn’t inherit a penny from my brother, shut up, Vicki. Leave me alone. You’re just wrong.”
The Dubrow family’s lavish lifestyle has been well-documented on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” since Heather joined the show in 2012.
In 2022, the couple sold their Newport Beach home (also known as Chateau Dubrow) for $55 million. In 2025, they sold their Beverly Hills mansion for $16.5 million after originally listing it for $25 million.
During the Season 20 premiere episode of “RHOC,” Heather hosted a Valentine’s Day “Hearts and Heels” party that cost a whopping $75,000. That same night, she confronted Gunvalson on her podcast for claiming that he and Terry had inherited a portion of his fortune from his brother.
But Gunvalson seemed to double down on his speculation when he spoke to VRT earlier this month.
“If (the legacy) goes to them, good for them. Own it. ‘Yeah, we got the legacy.'” Whether it’s $1 or $5, it doesn’t matter,” Gunvalson said. “If that’s true then I think Heather should own it, but if it’s not true then I misspoke.”
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” airs every Thursday at 8pm ET on Bravo, with new episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
