Matt Damon has revealed the abuse he received from “Everything Everywhere All at Once” directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
Damon, who is set to star in the director’s new sci-fi movie, revealed details on the radio program “The Dan Patrick Show.” Damon said, “What they pitched to me was ‘The Breakfast Club’ meets ‘Inception,’ an animated film meets an unaired episode of ‘The John Oliver Show.’ So if you like ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ and all things wild and hearty, I think you’ll really love this.” He added: “This is a really special project.”
Sandra Oh, Charles Melton, Michael Gandolfini, The Pink Panther, Sean Kaufman, Sylvia Dionisio, Jackson Kelly, Kelis Brooks and Talia Dudek are set to star in the Universal film. The film’s release date was changed from June 12, 2027 to November 19, 2027.
The film is the Daniel family’s first film since Everything Everywhere All at Once was a huge critical and commercial hit, grossing over $100 million and winning seven Oscars, including Best Picture. “Everything Everywhere All at Once” stars Michelle Yeoh as a struggling laundromat owner who, while being audited by the Internal Revenue Service, realizes she must connect with her parallel world self to prevent the destruction of a catastrophe. Daniels (as the duo calls themselves) made his feature directorial debut with 2016’s Swiss Army Man. This is a fantasy comedy starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe as a farting corpse. They rose to fame by directing the viral music video for Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What.”
Production is expected to begin later this year in Los Angeles.
Damon also mentioned that director and screenwriter Edward Berger sent him the first act of Jason Bourne, which is set to go into production in 2023. “It looks really good and I’m very hopeful that it will happen.” However, Damon added that both he and Berger agreed that it needed to match the quality of the first three films in the series. He added, “When I really feel there’s an opportunity to do something great, I go all in. I love the character. It was an incredible part of my life. I would love to do it again.”
