ABC’s revived “Scrubs” is undergoing cast changes ahead of its second season (and the show’s 11th season overall).
Eva Bang, who appeared as Dr. Sam Tosh in the first season of the revival, was promoted to series regular for the second season. Meanwhile, X. Mayo and Joel Kim Booster, who played Nurse Pippa Raymond and Dr. Kevin Park respectively, will not be returning to the series.
Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke return once again. Original cast members Neil Flynn, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Robert Maschio all return in recurring guest roles, with Christa Miller returning as a guest star.
New cast members Vanessa Bayer, Rachel Bilson, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Leila Mohammadi, Amanda Morrow, and Michael James Scott will return.
The official description for the new season reads, “J.D., Turk, and Elliot have elevated from interns to Sacred Heart icons. Now, these esteemed doctors are balancing the ups and downs of hospital work while inspiring the next generation. Along with characters old and new, they navigate their next chapter with laughter, heart, and a few surprises.”
The revival of “Scrubs” was well received by audiences. The show ranked as one of the top 25 broadcast programs for the 2025-2026 broadcast season, according to Nielsen data exclusively reported by Variety.
Bill Lawrence created the original “Scrubs” and served as executive producer with Jeff Ingold and Lisa Katzer through his Doozer Productions. In addition to starring, Braff, Faison and Chalke will also serve as executive producers. Aseem Batra will serve as showrunner and executive producer, with Mike Royce, Matthew Harawitz, Randall Keenan Winston and Michael Spiller also serving as executive producers. TV number 20 is the studio.
