Richard Gere, 76, was spotted getting intimate with his much younger co-star Diana Silvers, 28, while filming his new romantic drama Asymmetric.
Photos of the actors filming a scene in a New York City park on Thursday showed them deep in conversation.
Gere posed behind Silvers with his arms crossed as the two sat comfortably on a bench. The “Space Force” actress looked comfortable in black loafers and a light cream-colored dress that featured a leaf pattern.
The white-haired “Pretty Woman” actor wore casual button-up jeans for the role.
The only sighting on Thursday was the latest photo from a movie set.
On Monday, the co-stars were photographed fooling around in character while recording different scenes.
The two were also spotted walking hand in hand through the streets of New York. At one point, Gere put his arm around Silvers’ waist and pulled her closer, draping his arm over Silvers’ shoulders.
The film is based on Lisa Halliday’s critically acclaimed 2018 novel of the same name.
The book is divided into three parts, with the first section, “Folly,” telling the story of Alice, described as a “young American editor” and her “relationship with the famous and much older writer Ezra Blazer.”
“Folly,” a gentle and exquisite depiction of an unexpected romance that occurs in New York in the early days of the Iraq War, also hints at the growth of a young man who aspires to be a novelist,” the commentary adds.
The second part of the book, titled “Madness,” is told from the perspective of Amar, an Iraqi-American man who is detained by immigration officers in a waiting room at London’s Heathrow Airport.
However, the film seems to focus solely on Alice and Ezra’s fictional love story, as the logline states, “The film tells the story of Alice (Silvers), a young New York editorial assistant who meets Ezra (Geer), a world-famous 70-year-old writer, one day in Central Park.”
The synopsis continues as follows. “A moment of eye contact creates a bond that leads two people down a life-changing rabbit hole where they create their own private world.”
“Ezra, known for his bold work, finds someone with whom he can openly show vulnerability, and Alice finds the courage to explore her dreams as a writer.” “Until their secret relationship is exposed and everything is in jeopardy.”
Deadline reports that Oscar winner Edward Zwick wrote the screenplay with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz. Zwick will also be involved in directing and producing.
“It was an honor and privilege to work with Ed and Marshall on translating Alice and Ezra’s story for the screen, and we are extremely grateful for their humor, ingenuity, courage, compassion, and dedication,” Halliday, the original author and co-writer, said in a statement to the outlet.
In real life, Gere is involved in an age-gap love story with his wife Alejandra Silva, 43. The two started dating in 2014 and got married in 2018. He then moved to Silva’s home country of Spain.
The couple are also parents to sons Alexander and James.
The “American Gigolo” star is also the father of 26-year-old son Homer with ex-wife Carey Lowell. Silva has a son named Albert from a previous marriage.
