Britney Spears was spotted standing through the moonroof of a car while driving through traffic in Los Angeles on Thursday, just months after being arrested for drunk driving.
New photos show the “Oops! We Did It Again” songstress towering over traffic in a black Mercedes SUV on Highway 101 near Studio City.
The Grammy winner was traveling from his home near Thousand Oaks.
The car was traveling about 45 miles per hour at the time, and Spears passionately threw her head back and stretched her arms over the roof of the car as traffic continued.
According to a photo of the singer, she was wearing a mini sundress and rocking her hair in a scene of daytime traffic.
Witnesses told the Daily Mail on Friday that the “Toxic” songstress, 44, stood through the moonroof for about two minutes before the Mercedes exited the highway.
Spears was seen chatting and laughing with a male driver wearing a white cowboy hat after stopping at a gas station, where she was photographed browsing a convenience store.
“Britney only went through the sunroof for a second,” a source told the Daily Mail. “The car stopped and she wanted to know what the traffic was up ahead.”
They added that the pop superstar “wanted to know how late he would be” in traffic.
“She used to do this all the time as a kid growing up in the South. She loves the warm breeze blowing through her hair in the summer and it’s fun,” they explained to the outlet.
“She’s having a great summer and she’s happy. She’s in a good place. Even if it’s illegal to stick your head in the sunroof, she doesn’t know it. She didn’t mean to do anything wrong.”
The shocking stunt came months after Spears was arrested for drunk driving in Ventura County, California.
Video of the March 4 incident shows Spears failing a breathalyzer test and being handcuffed and placed in the back of a police vehicle.
After the incident, a source told Page Six that the “Crossroads” actress was “much better” after less than a month of rehabilitation.
“She is healthy, happy, very positive and excited to start fresh. Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself,” a source said at the time.
Another source said, “Counseling will continue remotely.”
The singer ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser “reckless” charge in May and was spared any prison time.
