Prime Video has announced the cast of Superior, an original German series set in the world’s top hotel management school. Filming is underway in Bavaria and Switzerland.
Combining an elite milieu, a young love story and a murder mystery, the six-part drama takes viewers behind the scenes of the perfectly orchestrated luxury hotel industry. But looks are deceiving. Behind the surface, dark secrets lurk.
Director Franziska Margarete Hoenisch oversees a cast of up-and-coming actors and actresses, including Zoe Furman as Rikka, Jonathan Kriener as Joel, Kel Burscheid as Maximilian, Lukas von Horbaszewski as Tarek, Jules Hermann as Florence, and Manal Raga a Savit as Amina, with Julian Kurbasik serving as director of photography. The series also stars Birgit Minichmeyer, Benjamin Sadler, Merlin Rose, Peter Lohmeyer, and Nick Romeo Reimann.
At the exclusive Swiss Hotel Akademie Walding, life looks more beautiful, grander and more glamorous than anywhere else. Between champagne, white truffles, luxurious hotel suites, and the ups and downs of first love, dreams feel like they’re within reach. But beneath the perfect surface, tensions smolder. Accounts with explicit adult content, forbidden affairs, and conflicts spiraling out of control are shocking the world of the elite.
Especially Rikka, who must keep her secret at all costs. To secure the scholarship, she falsified key details on her resume. And her classmate Joel threatens to expose her dark past. Will he betray her? Or can she trust him? Against all reason, Rikka falls in love with him. What she doesn’t realize yet is that Joel is also fooling everyone. It’s only a matter of time before all the secrets are revealed. with fatal consequences.
“Superior” is the working title and was produced by Swiss production company Zodiac Pictures in collaboration with MMC Zodiac. Jessica Hefty, Lukas Hobi, and Leto Charli will serve as executive producers, and Lennart Lenzing will serve as producer. The script will be written by head writer Adrian Spring, who also wrote the series, as well as Ruth Lehmet and Jon-Hendrik Karsten.
