Get ready to head back to Barry’s Bay. “Every Year After” was renewed for a second season on Amazon’s Prime Video less than a month after its release.
Based on Carly Fortune’s best-selling novel “Every Summer After,” the first season of the show follows the story of Percy Fraser (Sadie Sobeall) and Sam Florek (Matt Cornett) from friends to lovers to their second romance.
Ten years after their breakup (a mysterious event that Percy blames on himself), after the death of Sam and Charlie’s mother Sue (Elisha Cuthbert), the two are reunited when Percy returns to the lake town of Barry’s Bay (where Sam and his brother Charlie, played by Michael Bradway, grew up and where Percy spent his childhood summers).
In Season 2, “Every Year After” shifts the focus to Charlie, adapts Fortune’s sequel book “One Golden Summer,” and “continues to explore fan-favorite stories and characters from Season 1,” Amazon confirmed.
Showrunner Amy B. Harris will continue in her role for Season 2, along with executive producers Fortune, Lindsay Liberatore, Amy Rardin, Jon Stevens, and Grace Gilroy.
“Every Year After” Season 2 stars Bradway, Sauveore, Cornette, Aurora Perrineau (“KAOS,” “Westworld”), Abigail Cowen (“Fate: The Winx Saga”) and Joseph Chiu (“Fear Street: Prom Queen, Motorheads”).
“The response to ‘Every Year After’ has been truly extraordinary, highlighting the universal appeal of Carly Fortune’s storytelling and the deep connection viewers have with the world of Barry’s Bay,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We are so grateful to Carly and Amy B. Harris, our outstanding cast and creative team, and our passionate fans around the world who have embraced this series. We look forward to returning to Barry’s Bay and delivering another deeply emotional and unforgettable chapter to our audiences.”
