Country star Kane Brown thanked his lucky stars after being hit by a high-speed golf ball and lived to tell.
“Golf ball hit me in the head,” he wrote via his Instagram Story on Tuesday, including a photo of his severely injured ear.
In another photo, the “Heaven” hitmaker shared a photo of a torn ear with stitches and wrote above the photo, “Just a scratch.”
Via TikTok, he shared a clip of himself in his car with visible stitch marks, saying he had “23 stitches and a mild concussion” and joking that he was now at Chick-Fil-A for a snack.
“I was told it was likely going to get worse in the next 48 hours but I’m alive and that’s all that matters…absolutely bullshit,” he added above the clip, adding in the caption, “It hurts 😢 but I’m alive and that’s all that matters.”
He dissected the entire incident in more graphic detail in another TikTok.
“Storytime,” he begins in the clip, in which blood stains can be seen on his collar and he says, “A golf ball hit my ear.”
“A lot of people think the ball went over multiple fairways,” he continued. “No, this was my friend.”
Brown said she would not name names, but said her friend was “in a terrible mood.”
“But he needs to know that I’m fine,” Brown explained, adding that she “went to the hospital” and “got everything checked out.”
“My ear was torn and just a little swollen,” he continued. “But if it were here,” he said, patting the side of his face and the back of his head. “I won’t be here.”
“It was a 150 to 180 mph ball, a three-wood slice,” he recalled, noting that after his friend swung the golf club, he had “just enough time” to turn his head before the moment of impact.
Ms Brown claimed her ear was the “technically best possible place” for the golf ball to hit her.
“I’m so happy to be here,” Brown exclaimed. Brown was absent from the tight end college concert on Tuesday due to an injury.
Brown, 32, captioned the video on Wednesday: “Be careful when playing golf.”
Fans flooded the comment thread to wish the singer, who has three children with wife Caitlin Brown, well.
“Oh I’m glad you’re okay, Kane. Your wife and kids need you. And your fans too!!!!!!❤️❤️,” one person wrote, while another chimed in: “I’m glad you’re okay. Your angels are watching over you ♥️.”
A third person chimed in: “It looks painful. I hope it heals quickly 🙏🏻.”
Catlin wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday that the freak accident “could have been much worse” and that she was “so relieved” that it was only a “mild concussion.”
